Describing themselves as a musically-led precision engineering company, Linn have been one of the stalwarts of the British audio industry since 1973.
Their purpose-built factory at Eaglesham, near Glasgow, ( designed by Richard Rogers) is testamant to their willingness to invest in best practice. It really is a remarkable place and, despite the automation, the enthusism and commitment of the staff is a joy to behold.
Linn make pretty much every part of the product, even the casework, on site so the factory tour covers a lot of processes. We have flown up a couple of times now and can see that this is likely to be one of the brands with which we maintain close contact.

Probably the most famous turntable. . . .
. . . . In the world.
Clarkson, eat your heart out! Sorry, writing stuff sometimes makes the mind wander.
Starting at £2350 for the Majik with arm and cartridge and ending . . . well, somewhere quite serious, it is capable of results that can still shame the highest tech digital sources available today. This makes it rather pure dead brilliant or utterly inconvenient, depending on your viewpoint.
Either way, we are happy to demonstrate at a variety of levels.

Majik is the entry point with Linn. There is a Majik LP12, an amplifier, digital streamer, all-in-one system and a couple of pairs of loudspeakers.
Right from the off, the majik DS (digital streaming) products can access music digitally or via ethernet from your computer, the internet (including radio), via Apple Airplay or through Linn's own Songcast system.Spotify, YouTube? You name it - no problem!
You can sychronise a variety of listening areas together and have a mighty great party. Control it from the iPhone or iPad or from the computer desktop. Suddenly, iPod docks are looking terribly last century!
Being open source, there are many third party control options too.
We have it all here and are happy to set up a system over which you can drool. Better stil, simply sit down play your favourite music and enjoy the experience.

Further up the ladder, both in sound quality and functionality, the Akurate DSM adds HDMI audio (and video pass-through) to its list of talents. Everything a Majik can do and more (and better).
Due on demonstration here in the next few days.
